Wondering what to write to your parents or parents-in-law after your wedding? The task is easier than it seems initially. All you really need to do is simply convey your gratitude for their love and support.
A message from the bride and groom for their parents can be written for a myriad of reasons. You can thank them for their love, for your significant other, for their presence during the wedding ceremony, or for their help during the planning of the wedding.
If you have a ceremony program for your wedding, include a note inside thanking your parents for their support and love throughout the years. Maybe even read it out yourself during the wedding. Nothing can beat the happiness of hearing your effort being appreciated in a special ceremony, from someone special.
After the festivities have settled down is another good time to pen a thank you note to your parents or parents-in-law. But don’t forget to thank them in person for their love and kindness. Receiving an unexpected message after the wedding conveying your thoughts and feelings towards them would be the icing on the cake.
The message should primarily include gratitude for all they have done or for taking care of their significant other. If they helped with something specific during the wedding, you could also mention it. But don’t go into the details of how much money they contributed to your wedding if they did. The letter is a keepsake, not an accounting ledger.
If your message is longer than a note, consider composing it first on your computer. This will help you write and edit the letter more easily. Later you can transcribe it onto paper with your own handwriting. Do not send out a printed letter. A handwritten letter means much more to the reader due to the effort that went into it.
