Hayden Panettiere’s fiancé puts a whole new meaning on opposites attract. The 40-year-old Ukrainian boxer is roughly three times the size of his partner, Panettiere. The petite blonde met the 1996 Olympic Gold Medal winner in 2009 after she had attended several of his fights. They dated steadily through 2010 and 2011 until the struggles of their hectic work schedules drove them apart. In April 2013, the couple was spotted together again and it was only a few months later when it was announced that the two were engaged.

In addition to keeping up her acting career during the early time of her relationship, Panettiere also stood by his side during protests in Kiev and spoke with the people in support of Wladimir Klitschko’s brother whom was leading the protest.

Panettiere tells the entertaining story of how the two met. It was post-fight when she commented on how large he was at 6’6” and he replied back that she was quite “tiny” in her 5’1” frame. The actress revealed during a Cosmopolitan interview that what makes their relationship work is her deep admiration for Wladimir Klitschko and all that he does. He helps her feel strong, powerful, and keeps her in her place. Despite his rage when in the ring, she claims he is saint-like with his unwavering patience for her.

In fact, in an interview in January 2016, Panettiere was noted for saying that she is looking forward to more children with Wladimir Klitschko, soon.

Wladimir Klitschko had maintained his title as World Heavyweight Boxing Champion until he lost to Tyson Fury. Panettiere is often found in the sidelines showcasing a variety of facial expressions as she watches her beau win more fights than he loses. She also noted that since the birth of their daughter, her fiancé has become a stronger fighter in the ring. It’s believed that his “papa bear” mentality takes over as he is driven to leave a legacy for his daughter who bears his last name.

Although the pair has been engaged since October 2014, there is no mention of wedding bells in the near future. Numerous reports from both individuals state that they are focused on their careers and providing a loving home for their daughter, first and foremost. That means that for the time being, the wedding is on the back burner.
