Samples of Wedding Reception (Only) Invitation Wording

 Favorite

Each wedding reception will cater to the style and personalities of the couple, so it is not always necessary to stick with the traditional invitation standards. Most often the reception cards are included in with the wedding ceremony invitations as a suite style invitation. But, what if your ceremony is going to be small and private with a larger reception of friends after? Or, what if you are having an intimate destination wedding with a belated reception? Here you will find samples for wedding reception wording for all types of receptions.

Wedding Reception Only Invite Wording in Different Conditions

Most often the reception details are included with the ceremony details, which is usually just a simple paragraph with the location and RSVP request. But, if some guests are only getting an invitation to the reception, then this is obviously not the invitation you want to send out to everyone.

For guest who are only being invited to the reception you will typically start the invitation in the same format as the ceremony invitations, but instead of using ‘at the wedding’ or other variation that pertains to the ceremony, you would write ‘at the reception’. You will still include the date, time, and location but make sure this information pertains to only the reception and not the ceremony. Reception cards should only go out to those guest who you are inviting to the event.

So, what if you are having a belated reception? If you are having a belated reception then you have some options for the wording. The invitations should include the host's name and be followed by something stating “repletion in the honor of Mr. and Mrs. Last Name”. If the reception is being held at someone’s home, you want to make sure you inform guests of this by simply using the wedding reception only invite wording “at the residence of…” with the address following.
